Text Box: What is a fart?

A fart it is a pleasant thing,
It gives the belly ease,
It warms the bed in winter,
And suffocates the fleas.

A fart can be quiet,
A fart can be loud,
Some leave a powerful,
Poisonous cloud

A fart can be short,
Or a fart can be long,
Some farts have been known
To sound like a song...

A fart can create
A most curious medley,
A fart can be harmless,
Or silent , and deadly.

A fart might not smell,
While others are vile,
A fart may pass quickly,
Or linger a while......

A fart can occur
In a number of places,
And leave everyone there,
With strange looks on their faces..

From wide-open prairie,
To small elevators,
A fart will find all of
Us sooner or later.

But farts are all bad,
Is simply not true-
We must never forget....
Sweet old farts like you!

Kinda brings a tear to your eye doesn't it?
FROM ONE OLD FART TO ANOTHER

Hi Brothers
Hope you are all doing well and ready for the summer. Just wanted to update you'll on our weekend. Brothers Clarke VanSickle, Bill Murphy, and I went over to Bill Nolan's for the weekend. We had a great time in downtown Colfax. Clarke and I got in a little bass fishing on Saturday morning after not too much sleep Fri. nite. Didn't catch anything but had a great time just being out on the river. Brother was a great host, and we all enjoyed having a few brews, shooting the bull, and just being together. Old stories were still going on late into the night, or rather, early in the morning. I am still hearing new ones each time we get together and am more amazed at how we all got out!!!!! At these functions, I often hope that I had another 2 years at NSU before leaving (as you know, I graduated the Spring of 66 when the Charter members were initiated). I must pass on one of the stories that I hadn't heard before involving Brothers Ken Guidry, Dave Precht, Clarke VanSickle, and Dave's cousin. Seems the group decided to do some teal hunting on Black Lake prior to a function back on campus. Clarke and Ken got their limits of teal, but when Dave and his cousin came in, there were several "immature" wood ducks (illegal) in the bunch. Ken, being concerned about being caught, wanted to bury the wood ducks in the mud before leaving. Brother Dave, however, insisted that they take all the ducks (gonna eat what we shoot). Ken agreed, but took the long way around going home so as to not get checked by game wardens. There were many, many more, and I enjoy so much hearing them, even if I've heard them before.
We discussed having another get together, realizing that we are not getting any younger. In fact, Clarke, Murph, Bill, and I have all had our health issues. We thought it best, as some others before, that we get together more frequently than every 5 years. We are thinking of having a very informal gathering this Fall for one of the football games (Oct 2 for McNeese or 30 for Homecoming). It would be for those who want and can come. Of course, the more, the better. Please respond if you are interested. A few of us will definitely be there.

They could’ve used the auto timer on camera and got all 4 in 1 pictures - Old Farts for sure

Let’s Get These Ole Farts a Camera with Timer On It !!

Brothers
As some of you know, Brother Randy Redd and I drove to downtown Colfax (famous home of Brothers Nolan, Faraldo, and Rhodes) and spent Sunday night with Brother Bill Nolan.  On Monday, Randy and I drove to Alexandria where we met Brother Larry DeVille and his daughter, Jenna, and Brothers Bill Burris and Bill Murphy (who had driven down from Haughton) for lunch.  We had a great visit and solved almost all of the world's problems.  We also reminisced about the good ole days at NSU.  I'm attaching pics from our gathering.  You must note how none of us show our age
!
A note, some of us ole farts are going to NSU for Homecoming on the weekend of Oct. 30.  This is not a formal reunion, just a gathering for those who can make it.  We will make the Quality Inn (formerly the Comfort Inn) our headquarters.  Plan is to go Friday and leave on Sunday.  The hotel phone number is 318-352-7500.  So far, Brothers Randy Redd, Bill Murphy, Bill Burris, Gary Foster, and I have indicated that we will attend.  We would love to have as many of you as possible there.  Please let me know if you plan to attend.
Oh, by the way, this is this ole computer illiterate Cajun's first time at unloading pics from my camera to my computer, then attaching them in an e-mail, so, I hope they came thru.
